This week takes me from Miami to New York to Indianapolis; from 75 and sunny to 15 and snowy.
This week:
- I had brunch with 3 of the greatest friends
- started my last semester of library school
- I picked up another cold
- attended a fantastic birthday party
- relaxed, & watched football
Tonight, I need to:
- pack
- fix my fingers and toes
Nice little Saturday
Retrieved a present from the post office.
Good workout at the gym.
A walk through the city in 60 degree weather.
Found a few cute pieces for my trip to Miami next weekend.
Travel snafus worked themselves out.
Football on the sofa with the kitties and Alan.
I like to think of New Year’s resolutions as my short-term goals and birthday resolutions as my life changes.
- Add at least 2 states to my 50 state goal. Currently sitting at 28.
- Finish my last semester of grad school…with a bang! (okay, okay… that was a given)
- Run in at least 3 races. (I never run to win, but I miss competition.)
- Add 1 country to my list. Currently sitting at 9 (and 3 of those are in N. America).
- Spend 10 minutes before bed without a screen (phone, TV, iPad, computer) in front of me. (This might be difficult.)
1. Cook 5 4 3 2 1 new dishes.
2. Write one article and submit it to a small library journal.
3. Stick my feet in the Pacific Ocean.
Thanksgiving with my family and friends at the beach was marvelous. Even though the ocean is almost a steady 55 degrees off the Oregon coast, it was still really cold.
4. Finish The Hunger Games series.
5. Finalize the January Girls’ Trip
6. Finally make it to the Met for a proper look-around.
7. Help to throw one badass, literary party.
Biblio Noir was fantastic this year!
8. Sew one (wearable) dress.
9. Mail holiday cards. (2011’s might be on my nightstand…still.)
10. Find a table for the record player.
It should be delivered by the end of the year.
11. Add two art pieces to the apartment walls.
12. Put all my recipes into an organized binder.
What are your 12 before 2012?
After finals are finished, I imagine the rest of this list will be wrapped up nicely!
Work is closed tomorrow.
Now it is time to make an unrealistic list of things I hope to do.
- Laundry
- Sew a skirt, tank top or dress
- Organize my shoes
- Go to the library
- Run 3 miles
- Cure world hunger
- Call Grandpa
- Get a mani & pedi
